I don’t know if I should tell you this because you may already know it… But I will: if you don’t already have an SSD unit into your system, you should get one. If you already have one, you should get the second and the third ones. The Crucial CT1000P1SSD8 P1 is an amazing piece of technology and everyone should have it in their system. I don’t have this exact model, but an SSD is literally a game changer and I will tell you why in the next paragraphs.
First of all, the solid-state drives got cheaper. 5-6 years ago, when I have purchased my first 120 GB SSD, the price was extremely spicy. Now, they are super affordable and anyone could get one. The Crucial CT1000P1SSD8 P1 1 TB model is the next level. Why am I saying that? The first models on the market are the 2.5 inch units. They can reach speeds up to 550-600 Mb/s. The SSD we are reviewing today can reach speeds up to 2-2.2 Gb/s, which is something to get super excited about.
And this isn’t the fastest on the market. NVME SSDs can reach speeds up to 6 Gb/s. That’s pretty impressive, isn’t it? You need only one thing on the motherboard: a compatible PCI-E slot and your good to go. Check three times if you have one… I have (but not literally)… Speccy told me I have a compatible PCI express slot on the motherboard and I’ve ordered an NVME SSD. When I wanted to install it… Surprise! The “compatible PCI express slot” wasn’t there so I had to return the NVME M.2 unit and order a regular 2.5 SSD. I’m telling you this so you won’t make the same mistake.
As I said, if you don’t already have the Crucial CT1000P1SSD8 P1 in your system, get it! If you have this one or a similar one, get one more! If you’re a bit lucky, you will replace it with a new one after more than 10 years. Your computer will be rejuvenated and absolutely everything is going to be way faster!
