Despite major setbacks due to issues presented when a prototype of iPhone4G was assumingly leaked through gizmodo.com, this so called iPhone4 by Apple made a great entry in the market.

Recently at the WWDC(WorlWide Developers Conference), the latest iPhone was revealed by Steve Jobs to an excited and anxious group of people. The general consensus is that it’s a home run and it seems to have made some significant improvements. They seem to have focused on the trouble spots on the previous models and made the device even thinner.

Here are its few major enhancements:

Video Calling
iPhone 4 has two built-in cameras, one on the front above the display and one on the back next to the LED flash. The front camera has been tuned for FaceTime. FaceTime is an app that lets two iPhone 4 users do a video call over wifi connection. It also has a great feature where you can share what you see with the back camera and switch back to the front camera, vice versa.

Multitasking enabled
This is my favorite enhancement of all. Imagine the possibilities and things you can do when you can do a lot in almost all at once. You can easily switch between apps quickly and pick up where you left off when going back to the app. You can listen to audio in the background or get a voip call while using other apps. You may also do other things while waiting for your pictures to complete the upload. Nice, isn’t’?

Retina Display
It claims to be the sharpest, most vibrant high-resolution phone screen ever. Text in books, web pages, and email is crisp at any size in this phone. Images in movies and photos are stunning at almost any angle. That’s because the Retina display’s pixel density is so high, your eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels. You can move angles without it changing the brightness of the display.

Screen
The glass used for the front screen and the back cover is chemically strengthened to become more scratch-resistant and more durable. It also has a built-in sensor, that turns off display or adjusts brightness when you lift phone to your ears to answer calls to save more on battery life and prevent accidental dialing.

Camera and HD Recording
This is made possible of 5 megapixels back camera with a built-in LED flash. Everything can be recorded in HD resolutions – taking self portrait photos or recording HD videos. It also boasts the “tap to focus” feature – focus on the background or the underlying object with just a tap.

So that’s it. With all these features coming up to this tiny but tough device, it really isn’t a miss. I am so excited to get my hands on to this one.
The iPhone 4 will come in black and white, at $199 for 16GB and $299 for 32GB (with the same qualifications and two-year contract with AT&T as in the past). Apple will also add an 8GB iPhone 3GS for $99.

The iPhone 4 goes on sale in the U.S., France, Germany, the U.K., and Japan on June 24, with pre-orders starting on June 15. It will ship in 18 more countries in July, in 24 more in August, and in 40 more by the end of September.
